A weekend on the coast

I recently took the opportunity to head over to Blackball with Christchurch Photographic Society, ostensibly to track down the famous Entoloma hochstetteri - New Zealand's bright blue fungi, as featured on the $50 bill, and now named New Zealand national Fungi...where else in the world do you find this kind of competition?

Well, the coast is just teeming with incredible scenery, so it seemed the perfect opportunity to ferret around in the bush and at the same time enjoy the stunning, moody landscapes - here's my favourite from the trip - the super-atmospheric Lake Brunner:


So did we find any blue mushrooms? Well, yes, as a matter of fact we managed to track down a couple...
